In May I met with the development team for Coach’s Eye. This is an app you can use on your tablet or smart phone to video action and then play back in slow motion, stop to analyze what is happening, draw lines and show your students what they are doing in real time. The app is very inexpensive and was suggested to me by Barb Dow. All I can say is thanks Barb for introducing me to this terrific product!
When I met with development team from TechSmith they were interested, helpful and showed me all the features I hadn’t discovered yet like sharing and the ability to have someone take video with Coach’s Eye to send to me for analysis. I can then annotate and return with my voice over the action at the speed I play it. The team is also willing to take suggestions on how to improve the product.
This is one of the best teaching tools whether you are an instructor who needs the student to see what is happening in the moment or to use as a student. Anyone can use the program to make a clip for you to look at while you are riding. If you have a tablet I highly recommend that you get this app and use it in your teaching. Coach’s Eye is easy to use, inexpensive and a valuable addition to your learning process for any sport and especially riding.
