SURE FOOT Equine Firm Pads are a great Entry Level pad provided your horse is generally CALM. Firm Pads have some rebound (bounce back when the weight comes off the pad) therefore they are not advised for horses that are uncertain about different surfaces or who pull back or brace against the ground. If your horse show any of these signs, is anxious, nervous or has health related issues, start with SURE FOOT Equine Hard Pads. Every pair of SURE FOOT Pads come with a DVD packed inside along with a Warranty Card.
SURE FOOT Equine Firm Pads have two working surfaces: The Green colored top is Firm-Diffuse while the charcoal side is Firm-Direct. Two unique surfaces gives you twice the number of options for use with your horse and the SURE FOOT® Equine Stability Program. Combined with other SURE FOOT Equine Pads you can create a wide variety of combinations to keep your horse’s interest, balance and mentally challenge his self-awareness of each limb. Experiment with different combinations and patterns to see how your horse responds. As you use your SURE FOOT Equine Pads you will discover what your horse likes best!
When you are ready to have more choices to use with your horse and/or he is ready for a SURE FOOT Equine Pad under more than two hooves consider the SURE FOOT Equine Firm Slants. Made of the same material as the Firm Pads the Slants change the joint angles slightly for more proprioceptive input.

Lift a hoof and make a difference to your horse today!
The SURE FOOT® Equine Stability Program is your horse’s path to improved performance, comfort and confidence. Developed by internationally known riding instructor Wendy Murdoch, the official SURE FOOT pads are specifically designed for use with horses by horse owners, riders, trainers and equine body workers.
When a SURE FOOT pad is placed under your horse’s hoof, he will begin to experiment with the way he stands. You’ll often note that your horse will sway back and forth, shift his weight, drop his head, and go into “grazing mode.” When your horse leaves the pad(s), he will continue his experiment. This exploration and discovery of a better, easier, more efficient movement patterns enables him to break long-standing habits you have struggled with for years. With SURE FOOT your horse will discover a more comfortable, efficient way of moving in minutes!
The SURE FOOT Program and Pads give you the tools to make a profound different to your horse. By following the instructions contained in the DVD you provide your horse with the opportunity to become self-aware of his posture, stance and movement. Watch as he explores his weight on each hoof, calms himself and moves with great ease and efficiency with or without the weight of a rider. Your horse will thank you for offering him SURE FOOT!

The Firm pad (charcoal with green DuraFlex coating) is the introductory pad in the SURE FOOT lineup. This pad provides a firm surface, yet gives immediately under the horse’s weight with some rebound effect. This pad is often used as the first pad when introducing SURE FOOT to a horse. (If your horse braces his front feet, pulls back when tied or is unsure about anything under or around his feet start with the Impression pad instead of the Firm pad. For more information go to the Impression pad description.)
The Firm pad has two workable surfaces—a diffusion surface and a direct response surface. The diffusion surface (stamped with the SURE FOOT logo) provides excellent wear resistance and distributes the dynamic load to an area slightly larger than the hoof. The direct response, or uncoated surface, has slightly less surface firmness and allows the weight to bear more directly into the foam. These pads may be used with any horses regardless of size and/or weight.
Our exclusive proprietary DuraFlex surface coating is flexible, extending the life of the pads and can be easily cleaned with soap and water. The DuraFlex color allows you to easily identify the different pads at a glance.*
The pads are 10 x 12 inches and 2 inches thick. The rectangular shape allows them to easily align when tapped into place with your toe. Their flat surface and rectangular shape make them easy to stack and store in a crate. Their lightweight design makes them easy to carry and use.
The SURE FOOT pads have been designed and tested by Wendy Murdoch, originator of the SURE FOOT® Equine Stability Program. They are safe to use around your horse, are made from as much environmentally friendly materials as possible, and are assembled here in the USA. The foam used in the SURE FOOT pads is also used in products that protect some of the world’s top athletes and is exclusively available to us for use in these forms. You know they are genuine SURE FOOT pads they carry the SURE FOOT logo.
Pads are warranted against breakage (cuts, minor slices, dents or bites are considered normal wear and tear) and delamination of either the pad or DuraFlex coating. Do not leave your Firm pads in an enclosed car or trailer, or in direct sunlight for extended periods of time with the charcoal surface upward. Excessive heat may cause alterations in the foam. You may notice a permanent hoof impression on the uncoated side in high heat. This will affect the appearance of pad however it does not affect the pads performance.
*When using the pads in a cold environment (below 40°F or 4° C) use the uncoated surface. The DuraFlex surface stiffens slightly in cold temperatures and may crack. This type of blemish does not affect the function or performance of the pad, simply the look.
